Out with the old, in with the new

As outlined in the Website project page, latest deployments have pointed me towards a more specific direction for upcoming features. This article aims to take inventory with what was achieved from the last roadmap, and what was transformed / updated in the new one.

Initial Roadmap

  • Responsive design and Style refactor{?}
  • Footer (including Sitemap{?})

    • Footer element with analytics is done. Sitemap is planned in the new roadmap.

  • Internal Contact Form submission system

    • Planned in the new roadmap.

  • User registration / login
  • Markdown conversion for pages (or other better way of writing pages)

    • A good idea, definitely possible, but not on the new roadmap.

  • Pagination for article listings

    • Planned in the new roadmap.

  • Page filtering and site search

    • Maybe needed in the future, but doesn't have a purpose in the website right now, hence not on the new roadmap.

  • More User Actions

    • Planned in the new roadmap.

  • User stats and gameification

    • Somewhat achieved - this idea turned into the footer analytics.

  • User notifications (including Emails{?})

    • Emails are done, notifications are planned in the new roadmap.

  • Private pages, pages with access request

    • This has been merged into the Admin portal idea.

  • Payment page (donate or just test payments)

    • An idea for another time, it won't be needed until at least browser games take form - which are a faraway goal, hence not on the new roadmap.

  • Article archive

    • Discontinued because it's quite complex and has little purpose in the current state of the website. Could be transformed into a Localization goal down the line.

  • Admin portal

    • Planned in the new roadmap.
